La Selva

Luxury eco lodge and spa within the Yasuni Biosphere Reserve

About La Selva

One of the first Amazon lodges in Ecuador, La Selva was completely remodelled in 2012 and is now arguably the most comfortable of all Ecuador’s Amazon lodges. It is owned by the same local company that runs two of our favourite Galapagos Yachts (the Ocean Spray and Cormorant) and the service and quality of guides is excellent. The wildlife viewing is also exceptional. La Selva is situated by a lake on the edge of the Yasuni National Park within the Yasuni Biosphere reserve, one of the most bio diverse places on earth. The lodge now has 18 superb high end suites as well as a spa area, offering a range of treatments, yoga retreats (designed for beginner to experts) and an observation tower located around 20 minutes from the lodge which is 37 metres tall offering incredible views across the rain forest canopy. The birdlife around the lodge (as with the other lodges we work with) is outstanding. Ned Wheatley, Author of Where to Watch Birds in South America described La Selva as "simply one of the world’s best birding sites”
